Chelsea 1-1 Man U. (Match analysis and photos)

Chelsea and Man United played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in Stamford Bridge this evening. The calls for coach Louis van Gaal's immediate sack have reduced in the last couple of weeks due to good performances but this was a big game and both sides treated it as such.

Lionel Messi scores his 500th career goal

Last night, soccer star Lionel Messi scored his 500th career goal in the win against Valencia and he's still just 28. The breakdown is as follows: 435 goals for Barcelona, 49 goals for Argentina, 14 goals for Argentina U20, and 2 goals for Argentina U23. What a milestone!!

After yesterday's game between Southampton and Arsenal which ended 0-0, Arsenal fans were really disappointed with their performance. One of them is a Nigerian man called Kelechi, who did an interview with Arsenalfan TV to express how he felt. I fear Super Eagles players might reject call ups because of owed salaries - Sunday Oliseh

Super Eagles of Nigeria head coach Sunday Oliseh fresh from being knocked out of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) has revealed that players might reject future call ups to the squad due to their owed salaries. He said some players are already calling him to ask for their entitlements.

Crystal Palace football club of England signed Togolese footballer Emmanuel Adebayor on a free transfer yesterday Jan. 26th. The former Real Madrid, Man City, Arsenal and Tottenham striker had been a free agent ever since he and Tottenham parted ways last year.

South Africa admits $10m FIFA payout

South African Football Association President, Danny Jordaan, has reportedly confirmed that South Africa paid $10m after the country won a bid to host the 2010 World Cup. Jordaan however insists that the payout was not a bribe to FIFA officials.

Keshi must listen to advice – Elaho

Friday Elaho believes that Stephen Keshi would have guided Nigeria to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea if his former Super Eagles’ teammate had listened to advice.
The ex-Nigeria winger also says Keshi’s clash with the Nigeria Football Federation – and the attacks from some sections of the local media after the Eagles failed to qualify for the tournament   could have been avoided if he had not made “people believe he is stubborn and doesn’t listen to advice”.

Jonathan in fitness walk

President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday promised to institute a special fund for the country’s sports sector if re-elected for a second term on March 28.
Jonathan made the promise while addressing sportsmen and others at a solidarity rally organised for him at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
Vice-President Namadi Sambo in his short remark at the event said Nigeria could not afford to be governed by a 73-year-old President.

Cavani header keeps PSG hopes alive

Paris - A first-half away goal by Branislav Ivanovic and some fine goalkeeping by Thibaut Courtois have put Chelsea in command of their Champions League last-16 tie with Paris Saint-Germain as Tuesday's first leg ended 1-1.
Ivanovic headed in on 36 minutes after Gary Cahill had helped the ball into his path to give Chelsea the lead from their first and only chance of the evening at the Parc des Princes.
